FAQ
Fujifilm recipe identifier FAQ
Answers to common questions about identifying Fujifilm film simulation recipes from photos, supported files, privacy, and missing metadata.
How do I identify a Fujifilm recipe from a photo?
Upload a Fujifilm JPEG or HEIF photo and Fuji Recipe Matcher reads the available EXIF and Fujifilm MakerNote settings in your browser. It then compares those settings with the recipe library to surface exact, close, and possible matches.
Does Fuji Recipe Matcher work with JPEG, HEIF, or RAW files?
The best results usually come from original Fujifilm JPEG or HEIF files because they often include the camera settings needed for recipe matching. RAW files and exported images may not include the same recipe metadata.
Why does the site say no recipe data was found?
Some apps and upload flows strip metadata from photos. The photo may also be from a non-Fujifilm camera, an edited export, or a file without Fujifilm MakerNote settings. Try the original camera file where possible.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Photo analysis happens locally in your browser. The image stays on your device while Fuji Recipe Matcher reads metadata and compares settings.
